Job description

Qualifications
  • Associate degree related to Computer Science/Information Systems and 4 years of experience OR equivalent technical working experience (6+ years
    of technical experience)
  • Experience administering and managing the lifecycle of enterprise infrastructure technology platforms/tools OR leading a team that administers these technologies
  • Intermediate abilities building reports to collect and forecast trending data
  • Experience managing or contributing to a prioritized backlog of work
  • formal Agile/Scrum experience not required, but ability to plan and deliver team work is
  • IT customer service based background or comparable cross-functional technical support role
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading peers, with a passion for developing other's technical and career growth

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidates with the below skills (in addition to minimum requirements) will be given

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $114,00.00 to $171,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

Engineering Support & Automation is a team in the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization that provides advanced tier II support and automation services to our customers, who are mainly other internal IT operational engineering teams (10+). The Team Lead is a first-level leadership role that combines people and product leadership with hands-on technical knowledge. The primary focus will be strategic leadership for the team, helping with technical work when necessary. The role will lead and manage the resources within the team and provide guidance around career growth and long-term strategy. This includes writing performance reviews, having regular team meetings, one on ones, and planning compensation. You will participate in all other leadership activities at WWT as well. In this position, there will be ample opportunity to guide resources on the team to fine- tune their technical and non-technical skills. WWT provides a core set of tools for leaders to help, but there must be a passion to help people grow. It is the leader's job to help the resources get exposure to other teams, technologies, and training. You will need to provide regular feedback to the resources to understand where they are today and what they need to work on for their desired career path. Planning skills are vital in this role.
Responsibilities:
As platform owner for Puppet and Ansible Automation Platform, this role is accountable for the long-term health, roadmap, and adoption of both platforms across all supported
I&O teams. This includes planning and executing upgrades, evaluating new features and integrations, and ensuring platform scalability as customer teams grow their automation footprint. This requires staying current on the Puppet and Ansible product roadmaps and maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships to translate platform capabilities into concrete value for the teams we support. Metrics play a critical role with the team. It is paramount that the team lead understands how to read, build, and shape reports that seek to understand how the team is performing and what new opportunities lie ahead for the team. This position will work closely with customers, striving to drive long-term solutions, and continue to reduce support for them. It is essential for the person in this position to have a mindset that not only embraces change but actively seeks out opportunities for improvement. The team is eager to learn and try new things. Many of the processes in use today have been through numerous
iterations to find the most efficient process or solution. This role should push the team to continuously innovate on processes and solutions. The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, emerging people leadership skills, and the ability to manage a product backlog while keeping a team productive, engaged, and aligned to delivery commitments.
