A Brief Overview
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineering and Data Manager will lead the technical execution of complex,enterprise analytics initiatives and build a high-performing BI Engineering and Data Products organization. Thisposition will set technical and architectural direction for scalable, governed BI platforms and data products,partner closely with Data Engineering and IT engineering teams to solve ambiguous problems, and translateenterprise priorities into durable roadmaps that deliver trusted analytics outcomes at scale.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical and people leadership for the BI Engineering and Data Products team: Sets architectural direction and governs BI engineering standards to ensure scalable, reliable analytics solutions. Manages and develops BI Engineers and BI Developers through performance management, coaching, and workforce planning, and serves as the escalation point for complex, crossfunctional technical and delivery issues.

  • Scope, decompose, and lead execution of complex BI engineering problems across a variety of functional areas: Analyzes ambiguous business and analytical needs and translates them into welldefined BI engineering designs and work plans. Deconstructs complex or legacy reporting workflows and guides the application of computer science and analytics engineering principles to ensure solutions are performant, extensible, and maintainable.

  • Oversee BI pipeline engineering quality and delivery: Ensures endtoend quality of BI pipelines from semantic and metrics layers through dashboards and downstream data products byestablishingand enforcing standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, version control, and CI/CD. Drives consistent engineering practices to improve reliability, scalability, and speed of analytics delivery.

  • Design and evolve BI semantic and reportingarchitecture: Leadsthe design and continuous improvement of shared semantic layers, metrics frameworks, and reusable BI components. Partners closely with Data Engineering and IT engineering teams to align BI solutions with enterprise data platforms, ingestion patterns, and architectural standards, enabling scalable selfservice analytics.

  • Define and communicate business and technical value of BI initiatives: Quantifies the impact of BI solutions and communicates value to Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to inform prioritization, sequencing, and investment decisions. Ensures BI roadmaps balance business outcomes, technical complexity, and architectural alignment.

  • Establish and oversee BI platform governance and operations: Directs governance and operational management of BI platforms, including Tableau Cloud administration, access controls, content certification, automation, and quality monitoring. Ensures BI platformsoperateas stable, wellgoverned engineering systems with clear ownership and observability.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, or related field, Preferred

  • 10+ years hands on experience in a data engineering or analytics related role

  • 4-6 years managing a technicalteam

  • 7-9 years Advanced SQL development, including complex transformations, performance optimization, and data modeling

  • 4-6years Experiencewith modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake or similar)

  • 4-6years Experienceusing Python or other programming languages for data transformation, automation, or analytics workflows

  • 4-6years Experiencewith modern analytics engineering tools (e.g.,dbt,FiveTran) and CI/CD practices

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235).
