Job Description:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining RaceTrac's local and wide area networks, servers, systems, storage, messaging infrastructure, and subsystem in a team environment. This individual serves as resource in the Network Operations Center for supporting project workload requested by departments within Information Technology. The Network Engineer monitors the performance of systems for timely completion of assigned technical infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do:
  • Design, execute, and document project plans for various network infrastructure initiatives.
  • Install, support, and maintain enterprise-grade hardware and software infrastructure aligned with industry best practices.
  • Implement and maintain the physical infrastructure that supports virtualized environments.
  • Research emerging technologies and trends to make informed recommendations that support the organization's goals.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer, with a strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure.
  • Advanced expertise in BGP and dynamic routing protocols.
  • Proven experience deploying and maintaining Next Generation Firewalls and security-focused infrastructure (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower).
  • Working knowledge of SASE and SD-WAN platforms, with a solid understanding of public cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience supporting virtual compute environments, particularly VMware 7 and above preferred.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and network automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is a strong plus.
  • Technical certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or relevant cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working in PCI-compliant environments is a plus.
