Job description

Caesars Entertainment Corporation has embarked on a Cloud First - Mobile First strategy for the future of Casino Entertainment and enabling the Connected Guest Experience. In order to protect Customers and the Enterprise in this new Transformation, the Network Security Director provides key design and engineering for Cybersecurity business and technology projects.  This role will contribute to and design cybersecurity controls. connectivity, processes, and standards to achieve secure-by-design solutions.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

The Network Security Director will have eight or more years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-level Cybersecurity solutions.  This role is responsible for collaboratively designing and leading implementation for security controls and solutions across the enterprise.. The ideal team member with be a well-rounded security professional with a strong focus on Firewalls, VPNs, SSE/SASE, and other network-focused security control solutions.

This role understands Virtual Private Networking capabilities for site-to-site, remote access and SDWAN scenarios. They are also expected to understand the operation and configuration of NextGen Application-Aware firewalls and their capabilities, as well as CASB, Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Governance, Monitoring Tools and how these tools may best be used to meet standards for all aspects of Cybersecurity including infrastructure, applications and data security. Recommending the best balance of security, cost, scalability, automation, simplicity, and administrative effort to achieve those ends. 

Further, this position also supports the enterprise through security research and development, product evaluations, consulting, project support, and other tasks as needed. The Network Security Director provides technical expertise to implement security related standards, procedures, and guidelines appropriate to securing the existing environment in partnership with other departments and Information Technology.

They will be dynamic self-starters with a thirst for new knowledge and the opportunity to apply it, readily able to adapt to change, able to communicate to diverse audiences, ready to gracefully lead, influence, and be influenced by their peers.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science or a related field, or will have equivalent work experience.  Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, GSEC, or specific vendor certification(s) preferred.

  • 10+ years work experience in computer support, programming, operations, or related field
  • 8+ years hands-on work experience in Information Security Engineering with a strong focus on network security and secure connectivity.
  • Proven experience with a variety of VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL/TLS, etc.) as well as SASE/SSE concepts and implementations.  
  • Requires demonstrable knowledge of security control configuration and design.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching, etc.).
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances. 
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in cross-functional teams
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently toward detailed goals in a complex environment with fluid priorities
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable VPN solutions including, Site-to-site, Remote Access, and SDWAN VPN technologies. Position requires a strong understanding of systems, integrations, and interactions between disparate systems at the enterprise level 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex VPN-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems
  • Monitor and analyze VPN traffic patterns and security logs for potential threats and anomalies
  • Design and plan the future of secure connectivity at Caesars Entertainment, including the adoption of SSE/SASE
  • Collaborate with other teams (e.g., threat intelligence, incident response) to investigate and mitigate security incidents
  • Assisting with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the team 
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and security solutions to enhance the company's network infrastructure.
  • Test and implement new security tools and technologies to address evolving threats.
  • Analyze technology alternatives against business requirements to select products best meeting Caesars Entertainment needs, considering all relevant factors
  • Participate in long-term strategic planning linking the overall architecture to Caesars Entertainment vision
  • Enhance the relationship between Cybersecurity Infrastructure and other IT groups by demonstrating superior management of commitments and customer service.      
  • Work with others closely to ensure the effective development, implementation and ongoing operability of cross-platform applications
  • Establish and document related standards and procedures required to maintain an effective corporate computing environment
  • Enhance security practices, standards and procedures to ensure that critical company assets, including data, are secured
  • Participate in rotating on-call 7 X 24 last-level support and perform off-hours changes as needed
