The University of Nevada, Reno seeksa BusinessLibrariantoserve asliaisonto the College of Business, theDepartment ofCriminal Justice,and the Judicial Studies program.This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The incumbent willprovide library instruction, research consultation, and collection development services for students and faculty inareassuch asaccounting, businessadministration,criminal justice,economics,entrepreneurship, finance,information systems, marketing,andmanagement.Located in the Libraries' Research and Instructional Services department, this tenure-track position will collaborate on initiatives related to outreach, research help services, scholarly communications support, assessment, and others.
This position is part of theUniversity of Nevada, RenoLibraries' liaison librarian program that emphasizes engaging information literacy instruction, research support for both novice and advanced researchers, and active engagement in outreach activities to promote theLibrariesand build campus partnerships.TheLibrariesvalue excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong service orientation, a willingness to experiment with new methods and technologies, an openness to change, and a collaborative approach to meeting user needs.This isa tenure-track faculty position, with 70% of the expectations related to librarianship, 15% to scholarly activity and publication, and 15% to service activities (for more information see theLibraries' Bylaws).The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion inlibraryservices.
Theincumbent is expected to:
Provide in-depth research consultationsregardingspecialized businessresources, such as those involving investment and financial data, company and industryinformation, market research, economic indicators, and patent and trademark research.
Design and conduct curriculum-integrated instructional sessions in the liaison areas both in person and online, in consultation with facultyregardingtheir teachingobjectives.
Create andmaintainlibrary guides, and create effective online instructional materials such as LMS modules, online tutorials, and other learning objects.
Maintain familiarity withrecent trendsin research and teaching related to the liaison areas, such as those concerning journal publication, AI literacy, and evidence synthesis.
Overseelibrary collections in the liaison areas, respond to faculty and student requests for library materials, and collaborate with other library departments on collections-related issues.
Participate in and extend the Research and Instructional Services Department's outreach, promotion, assessment, and instructional initiatives, including research help services.
Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse communities and cultures.
Conduct academic research, publish work in peer-reviewed journals and other outlets in the library and information science field, and present work at professional conferences.
Serve on professional and university committees andparticipatein other professional service activities.
Engage in continuous learning to update knowledge and skills related tobusinesslibrarianship.
Required Qualifications
ALA-accreditedMLSor equivalent
Two (2) years ofexperiencein a library or instruction settingor an advanceddegree in one ofthe liaison areas
Preferred Qualifications
Background in and/or familiarity withsources, issues, and trendsin businessresearch
Experience collaborating with faculty in a liaison librarian capacity

Schedule
The Business Librarian is an in-person position housed on the University's main campus with occasional business travel, nights and weekendsrequired.
Salary
The minimum salary for appointment at Assistant Professor is$75,600.
The minimum salary for Associate Professor is$84,360.
