CAD & Permitting Associate

The CAD & Permitting Associate plays an important role in supporting both the Sales and Production teams by helping ensure events are properly permitted, accurately measured, and clearly planned before installation begins. This role helps connect clients, local jurisdictions, CAD, and Operations to support smooth event execution and compliance with local permitting requirements.

This position combines drafting support with permit coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects while working with layouts, measurements, templates, and permit documentation. This role may include both office-based work and occasional site visits for measurements and field verification.


Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate permit applications and supporting documentation for events requiring local approvals 
  • Communicate with fire departments, permitting agencies, and local jurisdictions to support timely approvals 
  • Track permit timelines, fees, and submission requirements to help ensure compliance and readiness 
  • Maintain organized permit records, contact lists, and jurisdiction-specific requirements 
  • Conduct venue site surveys and gather accurate field measurements for layouts and templates 
  • Create and revise CAD layouts, floorplans, and renderings using company drafting standards 
  • Support Sales and Production teams by preparing layouts used for event planning and installation 
  • Update venue templates and maintain organized CAD files and drawing libraries 
  • Revise layouts based on client requests, site changes, or operational updates 
  • Help ensure drawings, templates, and event plans are accurate, consistent, and production-ready 
  • Partner with CAD, Sales, and Operations teams to support efficient project turnaround times 

Qualifications for CAD & Permitting Associate

  • Experience with CAD software, drafting tools, or technical drawing programs 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines 
  • Organized and accurate, with strong follow-through 
  • Comfortable learning technical systems, drafting standards, and permit processes 
  • Clear communication skills when working with internal teams, clients, and local agencies 
  • Comfortable balancing office work with occasional field visits and site measurements 
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adjust when layouts, site conditions, or permit requirements change 
  • Interest in design, event production, layouts, or technical drafting environments 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working on a computer and using CAD software for extended periods 
  • Ability to travel locally for site surveys, venue walkthroughs, and field measurements as needed 
  • Comfortable working in both office and event site environments 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and use measuring tools or equipment during site visits if needed
