Job description

Position Summary

A precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong simultaneous 5-axis machining experience. This position will develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for complex precision-machined components while collaborating with machinists, engineers, and production teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and edit programs for 3-, 4-, and simultaneous 5-axis CNC machining centers
  • Develop machining strategies, toolpaths, setup sheets, and process documentation
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T
  • Select tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
  • Support machine setups, program prove-outs, and production runs
  • Troubleshoot programming, machining, tooling, and quality issues
  • Optimize existing programs to reduce cycle times and improve quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on new product launches
  • Ensure programs meet production, safety, and quality requirements
  • Maintain organized program files, tooling records, and process documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and process-development initiatives


Qualifications

  • At least three years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience programming true simultaneous 5-axis machining centers
  • Proficiency with Mastercam, Tebis, hyperMILL, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining practices
  • Experience supporting machine setups, prove-outs, and process optimization
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, or similar CNC controls
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists, engineering, and production teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, or precision manufacturing
  • Experience with probing systems, automation, or CMM inspection equipment
  • Experience supporting new machine installations and process development
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
