Job description

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Shift: On-site
Position Overview:
Under direction, can execute designs to assist in developing ideas necessary for sales, engineering, and manufacturing within the company. This includes producing safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective designs.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering efforts by creating all necessary documentation, calculations, drawings, designs, schematics, etc. as required
  • Perform necessary calculations and material selection to ensure compliance with quality assurance (QA), sales, and customer requirements
  • Manage drawing/design database - new drawings, calculators, design files, revisions, distribution, archiving, etc.
  • Create and review technical drawings, specifications
  • Perform and/or evaluate simulations, calculations, etc. to test and validate designs, documentation as required
  • Maintain and update, as needed, all ISO, ASME, API, and other QA requirements
  • Continual expansion of knowledge pertaining to engineering and design quality standards and necessary documentation within engineering department
  • Perform engineering and QA checks prior to shipment of product to ensure compliance with sales, engineering, and QA requirements
  • May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor.

  • Familiarity with ASME, ISO, and API compliance regulations, codes, and standards, preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, preferred but not required
  • CAD Software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks 2016 or newer, preferred
  • Experience in MS Office Suite specifically MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, technical documentation/support
