Job Summary

The SAP Asset Management/Plant Maintenance Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP solutions that support asset management and plant maintenance processes. This role partners closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate operational needs into effective SAP solutions that improve maintenance performance, strengthen asset lifecycle management, and support successful project delivery within Syntax.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of end-to-end SAP Asset Management and Plant Maintenance solutions aligned to business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational goals and translate them into practical SAP configurations, workflows, and processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of SAP PM and related functionality, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively and on schedule.
  • Support integration across SAP modules and connected systems, including MM, PP, SD, and FI/CO where applicable.
  • Guide testing, validation, deployment, and post-go-live support activities.
  • Analyze current maintenance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and asset performance.
  • Recommend solutions that reduce downtime and improve maintenance operations.
  • Work closely with project teams, business leaders, and IT stakeholders to support successful delivery.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to consultants, developers, and business users.
  • Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and user support as needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation, including process flows, configurations, and user guides.
  • Support ongoing troubleshooting and issue resolution for SAP PM-related solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience with SAP Asset Management and SAP PM/Plant Maintenance.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver SAP solutions in complex business environments.
  • Experience working with SAP integration points across relevant modules such as MM, PP, SD, and FI/CO.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration tools and technologies such as PI/PO, CPI, BTP, and API management.
  • Experience supporting both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Knowledge of asset-intensive industries, with preference for mining or similar maintenance-focused sectors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex business and technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading SAP implementation or enhancement projects.
  • Ability to work within deadlines, manage priorities, and support successful delivery.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, including Private Cloud and Public Cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance and IoT-enabled solutions.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager and business process management tools.
  • Experience with data migration and system integration approaches.
  • An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • SAP certification in Plant Maintenance, Asset Management, or a related SAP module preferred.
