Job description

Job Announcement This position designs, develops, integrates and supports solutions across SAP Finance (FI/CO) modules, SAP Integration Suite/PO, ABAP development in HANA, and SAP Workflow. The role works closely with Finance, business process owners, and IT teams to deliver high quality technical solutions that align with business objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1.

SAP ABAP Development Develop and enhance ABAP objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms (RICEFW). Build and maintain OData services, CDS views, and Object-Oriented ABAP solutions. Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure code quality following SAP best practices.

2. SAP Finance (FI/CO) Technical Support Support functional teams by creating technical solutions for FI/CO processes such as GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Controlling. Build integrations and enhancements to support financial month-end, year-end, and audit/compliance requirements.

Work with functional analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications. 3. SAP Integration Suite Design, build, and monitor cloud-based integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.

Develop iFlows, mappings, value mappings, exception handling, and secure connections. Support troubleshooting of integration failures and make enhancements as needed. 4.

SAP Workflow Design & Support Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SAP Business Workflows (including custom workflows). Configure workflow events, tasks, agents, and business objects. Work with business users to optimize approval workflows for Finance and Procurement.

5. Testing, Documentation, and Deployment Prepare technical specifications, test plans, and solution documentation. Conduct unit testing and support integration and UAT testing cycles.

Collaborate with Basis and functional teams for transports, upgrades, and patch cycles. Note: Telework policy: Fairfax County's current telework policy allows employees to telework up to 60% of the weekly working schedule. For this position, that generally equates to a maximum of 3 days a week of remote work and at least 2 days a week in the office at Fairfax County Government Center.

Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in information systems, computer technology, business, economics, or related field, plus three years programming/analysis experience in a complex information systems environment. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.

5+ years hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development in FI/CO,SRM. 3+ years experience with S/4HANA (ABAP RESTful Programming Model, CDS, Fiori). 3+ years experience in SAP Workflow development and troubleshooting.

Experience working with SAP Finance and Logistics modules. Experience with modern integration (API Management, Event Mesh). Exposure to SAP Security, Roles, and Authorizations.

Experience in SAP Integration Suite/PO is a plus. Knowledge of Agile/DevOps tools (Solution Manager, Jira, Azure DevOps). Strong problem-solving ability, critical thinking skills, creative/innovative thinking ability, and desire to learn new skills and techniques.

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and team framework that incorporates outside agency and contract staff. Stays abreast of both IT and data analytics trends.
