VDC Operator
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VDC Operator to join our team. This role will focus on plumbing projects and will be responsible for creating and maintaining 3D plumbing models, supporting BIM/VDC coordination efforts, and producing accurate shop drawings for multifamily residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong Revit skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction while working in a fast-paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, update, and maintain 3D plumbing models using Revit for BIM coordination and shop drawing production.
  • Assist with material takeoffs and quantity tracking using Revit.
  • Read and understand construction documents.
  • Help prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) documents as needed.
  • Coordinate with plumbing designer, project manager and field team to support project execution.
  • Participate in coordination efforts and assist with clash detection if needed.
  • Work on multiple plumbing projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Follow established project schedules, company standards, and BIM/VDC procedures.
  • Maintain organized project files, BIM models, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is required.
  • 2 years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling and coordination, preferably on plumbing or MEP projects needed.
  • Ability to produce accurate shop drawings under supervision.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings and identifying coordination issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, technical certification, or relevant field experience is preferred but not required.
