Job description

Apply today to be a RSI Operator with one of the most innovative and trusted packaging companies in the world. Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of RSI Operator for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The RSI Operator is a skilled technical position responsible for operating and maintaining the Re-Seal It packaging line in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of machine operations, quality control procedures, and safety protocols. This position is crucial for ensuring efficient production operations while maintaining product quality and meeting customer specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. This will be a 2nd shift position (3pm-11pm , Mon-Fri).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate the Re-Seal It line efficiently and effectively
  • Monitor equipment and processes to ensure quality standards
  • Demonstrates timely and effective problem-solving skills
  • Perform quality control tests to meet customer specifications
  • Ensure finished product packaging meets customer requirements
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills for operational issues
  • Perform routine maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions by monitoring equipment performance and identifying potential issues
  • Enter and maintain accurate production data in PRISM system
  • Demonstrates effective interaction skills to support team activities related to effective process decisions and goals
  • Demonstrates knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards
  • Monitors the area around the Re-Seal It line to ensure safety, environmental, and food safety policies and practices are followed.

Education & Experience:
  • Demonstrated stable work history

Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squat
  • Proficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills
  • Manual dexterity for machine operation and maintenance
  • Ability to climb ladders safely
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacks

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:
  • Noise levels above 80 dB
  • Operation of complex machinery
  • Solvents, fumes and inks
  • Variable Temperatures
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium

  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues (Associates in Written or higher stage of counseling are not eligible to apply)
