Job description

Description

Our customer has the need for a Computer Operator that comes from a NOC Analyst/Admin position and comfortable with monitoring network systems and oversight of their IBM iSeries environment. Ideally, this individual will have experience with technical troubleshooting, ticket resolution and prior experience in a NOC or Data Center operations.

This position is for 3rd shift working 12:00am โ€“ 8:30am.

Computer Operators Level I is responsible for monitoring of all network systems, servers, applications and communications that service the Store Support Center, Distribution Centers, Store Operations and Disaster Recovery.

Primary Responsibilities:

โ€ข Support all enterprise systems, performing system monitoring, troubleshooting, escalation, and issue resolution

โ€ข Ensure all jobs on the iSeries run in a timely manner, perform troubleshooting and follow established escalation procedures

โ€ข Initiate and monitor tasks related to daily run sheets, and job processing schedules

โ€ข Responsible for monitoring, coordinating, documenting and tracking system backups

โ€ข Manage and control all access to the Data Center suite to ensure the integrity of the facility while allowing maintenance and upgrades to be completed

โ€ข Monitor environmental systems within the Network Operations Center and Data Centers

โ€ข Manage Incidents and Service Requests via ServiceNow to ensure service level agreements (SLA) are met

โ€ข Perform user provisioning and de-provisioning tasks per approved requests

โ€ข Provide support to users and remote distribution centers

โ€ข Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures

โ€ข Assist in the installation and decommissioning of data center network and server hardware

โ€ข Other tasks as assigned

Other Responsibilities:

โ€ข Placing service calls/ticket with support vendors for data center equipment (HVAC, UPS, Generator) and PC/Server hardware

โ€ข Assist Data Center Operations Manager with special projects that may be assigned

โ€ข Required shift work and weekends. Willing to work overtime as required. Must be flexible to take on additional shifts when necessary
