The Network Administrator II is responsible for assisting with analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. This position performs a wide variety of tasks such as evaluation, maintenance and training to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. This position also provides information and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. The Network Administrator II will assist the network team with ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments across multiple locations
  • Assist in building and supporting physical and virtual network/server infrastructure (IP schemes, DNS, VLANs, load balancing, etc.)
  • Maintain working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (BGP, OSPF, QoS, VLANs, TCP/UDP)
  • Support LAN/WAN environments including wired, wireless, and VXLAN technologies
  • Assist with configuration of wired/wireless networks, including secure access (802.1x, BYOD, guest networks)
  • Support setup and maintenance of firewalls, routing, and switching infrastructure
  • Install, configure, and maintain network and telecommunications systems and software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, software, and communication system issues
  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency
  • Provide technical support, follow standard procedures, and assist with deployments and occasional travel/on-call support

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5+) years of experience in IT infrastructure OR Minimum of three (3+) years of experience in IT infrastructure AND an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2+) years of experience in network administration/engineering
  • Familiarity and exposure to technical concepts in data, video, and voice services
  • Knowledge of networking systems, protocols and operations
  • Ability to travel to other work sites as needed
  • Ability to work off-hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • At least five (5+) years of experience in network design, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization on both the LAN and WAN
  • Experience with any of the following is preferred: Microsoft Server Operating Systems, WAN optimization, remote access technologies, storage networking, wireless, and virtualization
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard Controller / VXLAN
  • Experience with Meraki Switching / Wireless / SDWAN
  • Previous Oil and Gas industry experience
