Position Summary
This is a Part-Time Faculty Pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Teach networking courses and hands-on labs in areas such as routing, switching, network security, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum, course materials, labs, and assessments aligned with College requirements and current industry standards.
  • Maintain and configure networking lab equipment, software, and virtual environments to support instruction.
  • Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain required academic records.
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, career opportunities, and industry certification pathways.
  • Utilize instructional technologies and learning management systems to support face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, recruitment, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of networking technologies, industry certifications, and effective teaching practices.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to Alvin College policies and procedures.

  • Associate degree or higher in Networking, Computer Science, IT, or related field OR equivalent industry certifications
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in networking roles such as:

    3. Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure)
    4. Network Security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS)
