Job description

Position Title: Network Engineer Job Description

Summary: As a Network Engineer at iLearn Schools, you'll lead the design, support, and management of our network infrastructure across all sites and Internet connectivity. Your role is crucial in ensuring stable, cost-efficient, scalable, and secure solutions that align with ESL's architecture standards.

Compensation:  Base $100,000-$130,000, Advanced Degree-Masters $3,000; PHD $5,000.  Comprehensive Benefits: Health (Medical, Vision, Dental), Short Term Disability, AAE, & Pension
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the use of various technological software and equipment for tasks such as, but not limited to, word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
  • Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; faculty etc.
  • Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
  • Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
  • Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.

  • Architect and maintain network infrastructure for stability, scalability, and security.
  • Plan and execute upgrades and routine maintenance for high availability and performance.
  • Lead hardware and software selection, implementation, and support.
  • Participate in iLearn Schools's Change Management System for system changes.
  • Collaborate with Information Security on DMZ networks and firewall configurations.
  • Ensure redundancy and backup processes for critical systems.
  • Manage yearly budgets for Network Services.
  • Provide technical consultation and support for corporate projects.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure third-party vendors meet SLAs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • CCNP-level Cisco certifications or 7+ years of large enterprise network management.
  • Strong routing and switching experience including L2/L3 protocols
  • Thorough understanding of OSI model and network technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto Networks devices.
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN controllers and network security best practices.
  • Experience with Zoom(Zoom Room, VoIP and Zoom Meetings)
  • Customer service experience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with Meraki routers, switches, and wireless solutions.
  • Firewall implementations (Palo Alto, Panorama, Cisco ASA, etc.).
  • Cloud networking experience.
