Job description

Job Summary:
Entre Computer Services is Rochester's leading provider in technology services, and they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their dynamic IT team. The role involves managing and optimizing both on-premise and cloud-based IT environments, ensuring robust systems performance, and leading complex project implementations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute IT projects from conception through deployment, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client requirements.
• Act as the point of escalation for complex technical issues. Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority incidents and system failures in a timely manner.
• Design, architect, and optimize both on-premise and cloud-based IT environments. Develop scalable solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Oversee the management and maintenance of networking infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network devices. Ensure systems are reliable, secure, and efficient.
• Implement, configure, and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability. Experience with Datto, Axcient, and other backup technologies is required.
• Administer and configure Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and other M365 services.
• Manage and optimize cloud services, including AWS and Azure. Design and implement cloud solutions that meet client needs and leverage best practices.
• Implement and manage virtualization technologies using VMware and Hyper-V to optimize resource utilization and system performance.
• Administer Windows Server OS environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role, with a strong background in both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Proficient in managing networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Expertise in backup solutions, specifically Datto and Axcient.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and configuration.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency with virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
• Extensive experience with Windows Server OS.
• Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations and provide solutions for escalated issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred:
• AWS and Azure certifications preferred.
• Additional certifications in VMware, Hyper-V, and other relevant technologies are a plus.
