Job description

We are looking for an experienced Intermediate REVIT/CAD Designer with 8 - 12+ yearsโ€™ experience to join our passionate and engaged Vertical Water & Wastewater team. Based in one of our Guelph, Hamilton or Collingwood offices (hybrid work options may be available), this position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative municipal water and wastewater projects.ย 

This is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment where you will lead design tasks from conceptual design to detailed drawings. Youโ€™ll collaborate closely with engineers and senior designers to ensure the design is of the highest quality, all while taking ownership of your projects and ensuring coordination across disciplines.ย 

What Youโ€™ll Doย 

Youโ€™ll be part of a collaborative team that values initiative, curiosity, and followthrough. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed design drawings in AutoCAD and REVIT, including process drawings, site plans, and section views of Water Treatment Plants (WTPโ€™s), Sewage Pumping Stations (SPSโ€™s) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPโ€™s)
  • Leading coordination of design across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines to produce cohesive, highquality drawing packages
  • Collaborating with engineers on preliminary design tasks such as pipe sizing and valve selection.
  • Supporting construction teams by responding to RFIs, preparing site instructions, and mentoring junior team members
  • Producing AsConstructed and Record drawings
  • Advancing design techniques and procedures to support designers, project managers, and technicians
  • Creating presentation graphics and report figures
  • Coordinating drawings with internal team members and subconsultants
  • Managing drawing filing, project workflow, and adherence to applicable CAD standards
  • Participating in occasional onsite work as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned.ย 

What You Bringย 

Weโ€™re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in doing quality work. Youโ€™ll succeed if you have:

  • A diploma or certificate in Civil, Environmental, Construction Management, or a related drafting/design field.
  • Strong proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD, with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Relevant experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packages.
  • Familiarity with design software and systems used in municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure design such as pumping stations, treatment facilities, and piping systems.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

The final compensation offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
