At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a CAD Technician to join the Electrical Wiring Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON. The CAD Technician will be responsible for translating designs and technical information into accurate manufacturing drawings for production, supporting the cable bus mechanical design team.

What Will You Do?

  • Interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
  • Generate models within 3D workspace.
  • Work with 3D scans and point cloud models
  • Prepare product layout and approval drawings.
  • Ensure standard design and drawing procedures are followed.
  • Prepare component manufacturing drawings for production.
  • Prepare installation manuals and arrangement drawings.
  • Follow projects through manufacturing processes ensuring proper production and assembly of components.
  • Provide manufacturing and assembly input.
  • Maintain computer and hard copy files in a logical, organized fashion.
  • Provide input to the design of product prototypes and final product designs.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • 0-1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering technology, or related major or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of common engineering and manufacturing practices.
  • Understanding of 3D modeling and mechanical drawings
  • Introductory experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity of manufacturing and fabrications processes
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Salary Range: $47,000-$55,000
