Job description

Definition and Examples of Work

  • Implements and maintains reports and application databases.
  • Works from specifications to develop new or modify existing application systems.
  • Documents, develops and tests programs.
  • Writes program documentation.
  • Analyzes areas where information technology and application development can be utilized to allow employees to more effectively perform their job functions.
  • Gathers requirements from non-technical staff and conducts thorough problem analysis to determine a solution.
  • Assists end users in the use of programs.
  • Answers questions related to IT policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as business needs require.

Latitude and Impact of Position

This position works daily to obtain and research information, provide input, and problem solve as part of a team. Most work projects are assigned, then the employee arranges his/her work tasks for completion within established timeframes. Decision making and problem solving is usually done in conjunction with more experienced professionals or manager. All purchase requests require supervisory approval.
