JOB SUMMARYThe BIM/CAD Operator is responsible for creating and modifying elements within a virtual environment using industry specific software applications.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A working knowledge of computer aided drafting and software applications at a level normally acquired through completion of an associate’s degree in computer aided design and drafting or related field or equivalent experience; and
  • 2 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Experience in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, Bluebeam Revu, Trimble, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings
  • Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions
  • Fluency in the 2D and 3D space
  • Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades
  • Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team
  • Fluency with all plotters, printers and reproduction systems used in house or on the job site
  • Fluency for importing documents, such as spread sheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Model electrical systems based on markup drawings and/or verbal direction provided by electrical detailers
  • Setup of Revit views and sheets in preparation for shop drawings
  • Annotate and dimension shop drawings for field installation
  • Utilize Bluebeam Revu software to markup PDF drawings and communicate with team members
  • Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for transmittal to other parties
  • Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, BIM360, etc.)
  • Check own work for accuracy after passing on to others
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned
