Reports to: Campus Principal
Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a dependable and student-centered Computer Lab Aide to support students and staff in the effective use of instructional technology. This position assists with the daily operation of the computer lab, supports technology-based instruction, and helps create a positive learning environment that promotes student achievement and digital literacy.
Primary Purpose
Assist students and teachers in the use of instructional technology and computer-based learning resources while maintaining an organized, safe, and productive computer lab environment.
Qualifications
Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or college hours preferred
  • Completion of the ParaSkills Course through STEDI.org required (District paid)

Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations, educational technology, and software applications
  • Ability to assist students and staff with technology-related tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Experience:
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience using instructional technology and educational software preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Technology and Instructional Support
  • Assist students and teachers in the use of computers, educational software, and instructional technology resources
  • Support technology-based lessons and classroom activities as directed by teachers and campus administration
  • Reinforce digital citizenship and appropriate technology use expectations
  • Assist students with logging into programs, accessing assignments, and navigating technology resources

Computer Lab Operations
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and productive computer lab environment
  • Monitor student activity and ensure appropriate use of technology resources
  • Assist with scheduling and preparation of computer lab activities
  • Maintain inventory of technology equipment and instructional materials assigned to the lab

Basic Technical Support
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Report technology concerns and equipment issues to the Technology Department as needed
  • Assist with setup and operation of computers, printers, and other instructional technology equipment

Student Supervision and Support
  • Supervise students during computer lab activities and instructional sessions
  • Encourage student engagement and responsible technology use
  • Support student learning and academic success through technology integration

Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in required district and campus training
  • Follow district safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and district information
  • Support campus and district technology initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise students assigned to the computer lab and technology learning environments
