Job description

J OB SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Pre-Analytical Team Coordinator, the lab assistant handles patient orders and prepares patient samples to assist the medical technologist in order to facilitate testing. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. EXPERIENCE: Background in medical terminology preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent communication skills; mathematical, verbal, and computer skills at college level preferred; excellent customer relationship skills Must be able to problem solve Ability to establish work priorities and to multi-task for maximum efficiency. Must be able to retain information once learned Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to follow as series of steps without confusion or error on an on-going basis.
