Job description

Job summary:

The lab assistant is an active participant in daily operations, supporting sterile and non-sterile laboratory technicians in prescription, compounding and fulfillment activities.

Job Activities and Responsibilities: 

  • Have knowledge of and adhere to all Standard of Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform daily cleaning of laboratory, laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Prepare and stock laboratory supplies and devices daily
  • Manage compounding and pharmaceutical supply inventory
  • Support quality assurance documentation of environmental monitoring and ancillary duties
  • Perform compounding duties as required
  • Assist in product packaging and prescription fulfillment as required
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties as required
  • Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Attention to detail to identify defective products
  • Strong organizational skills

Physical requirements: 

  • Ability to use a computer and computer-related equipment, printer/fax machine 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Lift to forty (40) pounds at times.
  • 20/20 Vision (either aided or unaided) as required by CGMP regulations for visual inspection of finished drug products.
