Job description

Job Title: Resource Room Attendant

Program: One-Stop/American Job Center

Location: Brea, Orange County

Compensation: $25 hourly during probation period, then $55,000 annual salary

Schedule: Fluctuating 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm Monday-Fridays with occasional Saturdays 9am-1pm

Purpose: America Works of California, Inc., a socially conscious company, is seeking a Resource Room Attendant to work out of the One-Stop Center helping low-income and underserved job seekers successfully navigate the job search and find gainful employment. The ideal candidate is outgoing, patient, and passionate about helping job seekers navigate employment resources and supports.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Career Resource Room and computer lab where job seekers can access and utilize resources
  • Work 1x1 with customers to access and utilize all resources and computer lab
  • Inform customers of all services and programs offered by the One-Stop System and partner providers
  • Record all necessary customer information in the CalJOBS system and Salesforce database
  • Assist customers with job search activities and provide referrals to additional resources and supports
  • Provide unparalleled customer service to all job seekers
  • Work collaboratively with One-Stop Center staff to support job seekers
  • Ensure professionalism in all aspects of communication
  • Report directly to the One-Stop Director
  • Model professionalism and inclusiveness, cultivate a safe environment for career development, and motivated clients to find full-time employment

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree Required
  • Must have strong conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Must have a professional demeanor, sound judgment, and good organizational skills
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience working with clients/participants in a workforce development, social services, or community-based context preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred
  • Be flexible to schedule changes, schedule will change weekly (9-5 or 10-6) with some late Wednesdays and some Saturdays required
  • Experience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Understanding of workforce development, employment services, and adult education a plus
