Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Lab Assistant to join the Laboratory team!  Description:The selected candidate will obtains specimens from patients, utilizing appropriate techniques and maintain integrity of specimen according to established procedures, (blood, urine, feces, nasal swabs, and microbiological specimens). The individual will submit specimens to reference lab and maintains reference lab system and files. They will provide care to patients of all age categories while maintaining confidentiality. The selected candidate will help with CLIA waived testing and Moderate complexity testing after appropriate training and competency assessment.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentPhlebotomy training program preferred.Computer skills and knowledge of Medical Terminology is desirable. On-the-job training and experience of up to 3-4 weeks is provided to become familiar with departmental policies, procedures, and equipment unique to the facility.
