Join our lab team at NKC Health, where you'll be part of a dedicated group of professionals caring for patients.
Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of Clinical Supervisors, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Coordinators performs receptionist, processor (Core, Microbiology or Anatomic Pathology), and phlebotomist duties to serve patients with compassion and empathy.
  • Communicate professionally with nursing staff, physicians, and lab personnel regarding specimen needs or issues
  • Accurately enter and verify patient and specimen data
  • Provide courteous, professional service to the patients and families
  • Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and hospital safety regulations at all times

Experience
  • The Lab Assistant II must have-1year NKC Health Lab experience, and either be cross-trained in 3 departments (Phlebotomy, Processing, Reference Lab, or Front Desk / Toxicology) OR
  • Be a clinical specialist in Microbiology or Pathology.

Special Skills
  • Computer usage, customer service, attention to detail, dexterity,
  • Comfort handling biological specimens, and stamina.
  • Biology background-Preferred

License/Certification/Education
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent-REQUIRED
