The Information Systems Analyst is a key member of the Systems team responsible for supporting the technology, data, reporting, and application needs of a specialized trust-services organization providing outsourced back-office solutions to trust departments, trust companies, financial institutions, and law firms throughout the United States.


The position serves as a critical link between technology, trust operations, and clients. Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining SQL-based reports and data extracts; monitoring databases, scheduled jobs, and data transmissions; supporting trust accounting applications; coordinating secure file transfers and interfaces; participating in software testing and implementation; and resolving internal and external client issues.


The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical capabilities with an understanding of financial services operations and a commitment to exceptional client service. Success requires intellectual curiosity, accuracy, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of issues from initial identification through successful resolution


Essential Duties/Responsibilities to be performed with or without accommodation

Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop, maintain, and execute SQL queries, reports, and data extracts based on defined business and client requirements.
  • Analyze data requirements and translate business needs into accurate, efficient, and scalable reporting solutions.
  • Validate report outputs and data extracts for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and appropriate formatting prior to delivery.
  • Monitor reporting databases, scheduled reports, batch processes, and related system jobs.
  • Troubleshoot reporting errors, data discrepancies, and failed processes and coordinate resolution as appropriate.
  • Utilize SQL, Microsoft Excel, Access, Visual Studio, and other approved technologies to develop effective solutions for internal and external users.
  • Assist with recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements supporting trust operations, client servicing, management, audit, and regulatory needs.

Trust Systems & Application Support

  • Provide application and systems support for the organization's trust accounting and related technology platforms.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of AddVantage trust accounting and other systems supporting trust administration and operations.
  • Establish and maintain authorized users within assigned software applications in accordance with established access-control procedures.
  • Respond to questions and troubleshoot application, reporting, data, and interface issues.
  • Work directly with internal users and external clients to understand issues, determine root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Train on new systems, applications, tools, and functionality introduced by the organization.
  • Responsible for completing the bi-monthly FINCEN and OFAC reporting for our clients.
  • Serve as a back-up for completing the daily custodial and cash related reconciliations as needed.

Data Interfaces & File Transfers

  • Coordinate new data-interface and file-transfer implementations with internal technology teams, clients, vendors, and external IT departments.
  • Initiate, monitor, and troubleshoot incoming and outgoing data interfaces.
  • Monitor database transmissions, file transfers, scheduled processes, and exception reports to identify potential failures or discrepancies.
  • Investigate failed or incomplete transmissions and coordinate timely remediation.
  • Validate data following interface implementation or material system changes.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of interface specifications, schedules, dependencies, and support procedures.
  • Follow established information security and data-handling requirements when transmitting confidential client and financial information.

Client & Internal User Support

  • Serve as a knowledgeable and responsive resource for internal and external clients regarding reporting, data, system, and application questions.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, practical information for financial-services professionals and other nontechnical users.
  • Demonstrate ownership of client issues from initial inquiry through resolution.
  • Maintain appropriate problem and incident logs and document actions taken.
  • Identify recurring issues and communicate trends, root causes, and potential solutions to management.
  • Prioritize issues based on client impact, operational risk, urgency, and established service expectations.
  • Deliver solutions with professionalism, accuracy, responsiveness, and a strong sense of urgency.

Software Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Participate actively in testing new software, system releases, enhancements, patches, and production fixes.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios based on defined business and system requirements.
  • Validate calculations, reports, data interfaces, workflows, and downstream impacts.
  • Document testing results, defects, exceptions, and remediation requirements.
  • Perform regression and user acceptance testing as appropriate.
  • Partner with business users, technology resources, and vendors to ensure system changes meet established requirements before production implementation.
  • Assist with post-implementation validation and issue resolution.

Project Management & Business Analysis

  • Participate in technology, systems, reporting, and operational improvement projects.
  • Assume ownership for assigned project activities and deliverables from requirements definition through implementation.
  • Gather and document business requirements and translate requirements into technical or process solutions.
  • Coordinate activities across Systems, Operations, Client Service, vendors, and external client technology teams.
  • Monitor milestones, dependencies, issues, and deliverables for assigned initiatives.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and implementation considerations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, efficiency, data quality, and the client experience.

Documentation & Controls

  • Maintain current and accurate systems, reporting, interface, and operational documentation.
  • Develop new procedures, job aids, technical documentation, and process maps as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation supporting system access, data transmissions, reporting processes, testing, and change management.
  • Follow established information security, data privacy, change-management, and technology-control requirements.
  • Support internal audits, client inquiries, risk assessments, and regulatory or control reviews as required

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Finance, Business, Financial Services, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience in information systems, data analysis, application support, financial technology, trust operations, or a related field.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with SQL, including the ability to develop, modify, troubleshoot, and validate queries and data extracts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and database/reporting technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio, Microsoft Access, Power BI or comparable development and data-management tools.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze large or complex datasets and validate reporting accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with AddVantage Trust Accounting or comparable trust accounting/custody platforms.
  • Experience within a trust company, bank trust department, institutional trust organization, wealth management firm, custody provider, or financial technology organization.
  • Knowledge of trust accounting, securities processing, cash processing, reconciliation, income collection, corporate actions, or other trust operational processes.
  • Experience with SFTP, automated interfaces, scheduled jobs, data feeds, or batch processing.
