Job Summary:
The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the company's Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role serves as the critical bridge between People Operations and IT, ensuring seamless system functionality, data integrity, and integrations across platforms.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, including experience with databases, SQL, and Power BI, enabling advanced reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This role plays a key part in improving system efficiency, enhancing reporting capabilities, and supporting business growth through accurate and accessible HR data.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and optimize the HRIS (Paycom), ensuring accurate data entry, system configuration, and ongoing functionality
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in partnership with vendors and IT
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide end-user support to HR, managers, and employees
  • Ensure system compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Stay current on new releases of features and functionality from HRIS platform provider, and summarize release notes and communicate across the team
  • Extract, transform, and analyze HR data from the HRIS and other databases using query tools
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to support leadership decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity through regular audits, validation processes, and system controls
  • Translate business needs into actionable reporting and analytics solutions
  • Manage and support integrations between HRIS, payroll, benefits, ATS, and other enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with IT and vendors to design, implement, and maintain data integrations and APIs
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and monitor data flows across platforms
  • Provide technical guidance on system capabilities and data architecture
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through automation and system enhancements
  • Recommend and implement best practices for HRIS functionality and data governance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across People Operations
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and integrations
  • Act as a liaison between HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, and ad hoc data requests
  • Train HR team members and end users on system functionality and reporting tools
  • This position may require travel to RailPros' headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locations
  • Up to 10% travel

  • 3-5+ years of HRIS or HR technology experience (multiple HRIS system experience preferred)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying data from relational databases or data warehouses
  • Experience working with Power BI (or similar BI tools) to build dashboards and reports
  • Hands-on experience supporting HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HR processes, data structures, and compliance requirements
