Overview
The HRIS Administrator is responsible for the operational administration and frontline support of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role focuses on maintaining system structure, codes, and tables; responding to HRIS tickets; and supporting basic data and access requests. Work is performed under direct supervision, following established procedures.
Responsibilities
• Enters, updates, and audits system codes and tables to ensure alignment with approved HR processes and governance standards.
• Reviews system data for completeness and identifies missing or inconsistent information, coordinating with the appropriate HR teams to request corrections.
• Runs and monitors scheduled interfaces between HRIS and connected systems using established procedures, documents issues, and escalates interface failures or discrepancies to higher level HRIS or technical staff.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for HRIS tickets and inquiries, responding to routine questions and escalating issues when appropriate.
• Supports employee and manager self-service and HR user access by answering basic system navigation and access questions.
• Fulfills basic data requests by providing standard information or directing requests to the appropriate HRIS Analyst or HR team.
• Maintains report distribution lists and system-based user notifications as directed.
• Processes standard access requests and system permissions following established controls and approvals.
• Develops and maintains HRIS process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reference materials.
• Performs work under direct supervision, handling routine operational tasks and referring complex, non-standard, or escalated issues to higher-level HRIS staff.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Beginning to working knowledge of HR systems, system administration, or HR operations.
• Typically requires a high school diploma and 0-2 years of related experience in HR, HRIS support, payroll, benefits, or administrative systems roles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple routine tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Associate's degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Information Systems.
• Exposure to HRIS platforms such as UKG, iCIMS, TalentGuard, or JDE.
• Experience working in a shared services or ticket-based support model.
Travel Requirements
• Infrequent travel to Company or client locations (approximately 5-10%).
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Work is primarily performed in an office or remote work environment.
Pay Range
USD $19.18 - USD $25.62 /Hr.
