Description
SUMMARY: The Ideal candidate will have experience teaching multiple courses in computer information science. The Computer Information Science program at South Suburban College consists of courses in IT Essentials A+ Prep, Network+ Certification Prep, Security+ Prep, Cloud Computing, and Virtualized Computing. The ideal candidate will be A+ and Network + certified and contribute to the Computer Information Science program. Experience in teaching diverse students at various levels of college preparedness is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study.
  • 2 years of previous teaching experience in higher education, community college preferred
  • Experience with the use of instructional technology
  • Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in ability, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

Supplemental Information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in the delivery of in-person instruction.
  • College-level teaching experience in Technology
STATUS/SALARY:
This is a part-time faculty position with a salary to be determined by placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule

Membership is mandatory for all Board approved employees at date of employment. The employee contributes 8.5% of their g ross compensation. State Universities Retirement System (SURS) retirement benefits are based on age and years of service.
