Position Summary
The Information Technology Support Specialist provides Help Desk support for hardware, software, and network systems across Achieva locations throughout Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. This role assists employees with technical issues, installs and maintains computer equipment, supports day-to-day IT operations, and helps ensure the organization's technology systems run efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical knowledge while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Help Desk support to employees via phone, chat, remote assistance, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware, software, network, and system issues to resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Perform day-to-day system administration tasks including account auditing, file management, disk management, and monitoring hardware operations.
  • Respond to support requests through the ticketing system and escalate complex issues to the IT Director when appropriate.
  • Install, configure, and deploy computers, printers, and other endpoint devices.
  • Assist with testing new hardware and software prior to implementation.
  • Provide technology training and guidance to employees, including leading training sessions as assigned.
  • Monitor the lifecycle of computers and other endpoint devices and perform upgrades when necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on computer equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of computers, printers, and technology assets.
  • Travel to Achieva locations throughout Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties to provide on-site technical support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, completion of a Technical School program, or two (2) years of related experience supporting personal computers and computer networks.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (GSuite) and Microsoft 365.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments while working independently.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and properly insured vehicle available for regular local travel.
  • Must meet Act 33/34 and/or FBI clearance requirements.
