Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Hardware Engineer within the Scottsdale-based Land and Air Systems Engineering team. This position provides an opportunity to design and build uniquely resilient hardware to ensure mission success in contested environments. The team is focused on tactical communications that span many Department of Defense customers. In a collaborative environment, the team works closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Seeking a Hardware Engineer responsible for applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering to develop, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and systems. The role involves participating in requirements analysis, design, integration, and verification processes, as well as supporting technical reviews and root cause analysis. The ideal candidate works within defined processes and collaborates with project leaders, program managers, and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Application of electrical engineering processes, concepts, principles, and theories
  • Evaluates vendor capability to support product development
  • Performs electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues
  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle
  • Participates in electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g., timing, power, etc.), design, integration, and verification of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Contributes to electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment, and systems
