Your Team, Your Impact
The Cloud Platform Optics team builds highly integrated component platforms with high-speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC's with Marvell DSP's. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware and control loops. An engineer in this team will be involved in a full product lifecycle and will carry new products from inception all the way to NPI.
What You Can Expect
We are seeking a motivated and talented Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electrical hardware design and development, with a keen interest in developing platform solutions for the AI market. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible for the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for optical modules and other AI platforms
  • Technical ownership of all aspects of hardware development for specific module platforms and mentor junior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and specifications
  • Engage with external component suppliers to define new product roadmaps, guide technology development and be actively involved in component selection
  • Actively work with PCB layout engineers and provide guidance on component placement, routing for signal integrity / power integrity, and to meet BW requirements
  • Responsible for PCB board bring-up and debugging of hardware components using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and signal analyzer
  • Participate in hardware validation and verification, including debugging and troubleshooting
  • Help develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to support the production and assembly of hardware components

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience or Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a formal degree
  • Strong experience in electrical hardware design and development
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
  • Strong knowledge of power management, high-speed signal and power integrity
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Allegro, OrCAD)
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment, with a good understanding of electrical measurement and testing methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor processing and good understanding of packaging technology
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity in using firmware for board level communication and scripting
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols related to DCI technology
  • Understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations in hardware design

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
152,300 - 225,440, $ per annum
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
