Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $61.45hr - $66.45hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 5+ years experience designing, testing and debugging electrical hardware circuits (analog and digital), and systems to the component level.
  • 5 years minimum experience using oscilloscopes and function generators regularly.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies and function generators for at least 100 days over career.
  • Strong technical writing skills including experience writing specifications and test plans.
  • Experience with schematic capture programs.
  • Experience with Cadence is preferred.
  • Ability to look at a schematic and determine how to efficiently test each section, including building custom test jigs for sub-sections.
  • Ability to work from minimal verbal requirements and capture those into written technical documents.
  • Ability to produce written test reports.
  • Ability to read data sheets for complex devices and translate requirements for software/firmware engineers, specifically for I2C and SPI I/O expanders and multiplexers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in running bench tests and bringing up boards.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist software engineers and technicians in the lab.
  • Perform component selection and hardware design.
  • Design and build electronic circuits under the guidance of the lead electrical engineer.
  • Perform circuit analysis as required.
  • Execute schematic capture and direct the activities of the PCB layout personnel, including reviewing and directing their work.
  • Check documentation and create ECOs for release.
  • Write board validation plans and perform all testing personally.
  • Work with circuits that are primarily analog and heavy in op amps.
  • Utilize understanding of analog and digital hardware, including voltage regulators (linear and switchers), op amps, transistors, microcontrollers, high speed communications, and analog multiplexors.
  • Assist in the bringing up and debugging of other PCBs within the program.
