Hardware Engineer III

Ampex is looking for a highly skilled and organized Hardware Engineer III to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team in developing leading data management solution products for aerospace applications. Ampex provides a dynamic environment where you can apply your skills on a diversity of technical challenges.


Job Overview


Ampex is seeking a candidate with experience in system and board level high speed circuit design and implementation based embedded system. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment throughout the project stages from requirements definition, design documentation, implementation, qualification testing and product support.


This position is to be filled onsite in Hayward, CA. No employer visa sponsorship is available.


Principle Duties

  • Report to hardware engineering manager
  • Conduct system level requirements analysis and produce circuit requirements
  • Design, develop and implement high speed circuit
  • Interface and supervise the PCB layout designer
  • Develop, verification and validation procedures
  • Preform verification and validation testing
  • Document and maintain design configuration data
Requirements:
  • Must have a BS degree in Electrical or Computer engineering or equivalent
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in hardware development
  • Experience in high-speed digital circuits and board design
  • Basic understanding FPGA logic design and simulation
  • Experience in microprocessor system architecture
  • Proficiency in design software tools
  • Skilled in system test and validation methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be U.S. Citizens - this position will be working directly on a contract with the U.S. Government, which requires all employees performing these functions be U.S. Citizens. This position is contingent on the applicant providing proof of U.S. Citizenship.

  • Salary Range: $115,000-$135,000 (based on experience)
