Job description

Today, Electronic Warfare (EW) is a growing enterprise - protecting the warfighter and our national security against ever-adapting threats. Our division currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Hardware Engineer to design, development, and build of radio-frequency (RF) and digital electronic hardware from prototypes through production support in Arlington, VA for the Electronic Warfare Division

Projects involve small multi-disciplinary teams of engineers working together in spiral or agile development environments to meet aggressive customer schedules aimed at near-term field demonstrations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Design of novel electronic systems for electronic warfare platforms

  • Gathering, generating, and analyzing requirements, power budgets, thermal budgets, and link budgets

  • Design and layout of electronic circuit boards

  • Development of bills of materials, including parts selection, size/weight/power

  • Design and assembly of prototype electronics chassis and systems

  • Generating test requirements and test plans from customer requirements

  • Conducting and coordinating tests using a variety of RF and electrical test equipment

  • Working with internal and external manufacturing resources to take the prototype design to a production model

  • Field support and debug of operating systems

The successful candidate will have the following basic education/experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI

  • Experience in:

    • System/subsystem design

    • Electrical and electronics principles and phenomena

    • Product development and test

    • Manufacturing processes and document control processes

    • Test plan and execution

    • Lab equipment, especially oscilloscopes, signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers

    • Proper handling and ESD control of sensitive electronic devices


Bonus education/experience:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • Active security clearance higher than the Secret level

  • Experience with:

    • RF system design

    • RF phenomenology

    • EW principles, systems, and techniques

    • Understanding of electrical code and OSHA safety requirements

    • PCB design and layout

Travel:

Occasional travel, about 10-20% to CONUS locations for 1-5 days at a time
