Job Summary:
Identifies each day's shipments and ensures orders are correctly assembled, packaged, protected, and labeled, and that appropriate graphics are completed accurately. Responsible for meeting daily shipping schedules, maintaining inventory control/records, and notifying the Shipping Supervisor of problems.
Essential Functions:

Follow safety procedures and practices
Verify quantity and quality of orders before packaging and shipping
Record shipment information (weight, tracking, special notations)
Determine best packaging options based on contents, shipping method, and size
Build a custom crate when required or pick up a crate at another location
Secure contents to prevent damage/breakage
Affix shipping labels and special handling instructions clearly and orderly
Read and understand job traveler; verify graphics per customer order
Learn to operate FedEx and UPS shipping systems
Operate band saw, banding equipment, and floor jacks
Use proper lifting techniques; get help for heavy weights; avoid awkward positions
Work in stocking-program side of shipping (shelving and releasing part numbers)
Troubleshoot and resolve problems
Keep work areas clear of clutter and equipment
Assist with year-end and general inventory procedures as needed
Report defective graphics or shortages to Shipping Supervisor
Competencies
Ability to access information on a computer
Willingness to be trained on electric pallet jack and/or forklift
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to interpret data sheets
Organized; able to work independently and within a team
Works under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Required to reach level 4 physical capacity test post-hire

Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time; Monday-Friday. Hours may vary by department and shift. Additional hours required to complete projects.
