Job Description

The Analytical Chemist is responsible for performing and supporting pharmaceutical analytical testing. This role serves as the primary analyst for metals impurity testing by ICP-MS and contributes to method development, validation, and routine sample analysis. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to GxP laboratory quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary analyst for elemental impurity testing by ICP-MS, including sample preparation, analysis, data review, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Perform LC (Liquid Chromatography) analyses for method development, method optimization, validation activities, and routine sample testing.
  • Provide additional analytical testing support services using standard analytical and characterization techniques (GC, IR, KF, etc.) when requested.
  • Responsible for accurate and real-time documentation and data entry
  • Provide backup support to ensure on time testing services
  • Provide customer service and exhibit customer interface skills
  • Ensure activities are performed according to the appropriate SOP or test method
Qualifications

Desired skills:

  • Skilled in analytical testing instrumentation, ICP-MS, and LC
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, instrument software applications and laboratory management software systems
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral, interpersonal and written) skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Chemistry, or other related scientific degree concentration
  • 3+ years of lab experience in biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required

  • Position is full-time, working Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00p.m overtime as needed
