Field Service Engineer

Minneapolis, MN

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our systems are installed, maintained, and supported to the highest standards. You’ll collaborate with experienced teams and engage directly with customers who rely on their technology every day, helping to keep equipment running reliably and making a real difference in the customer experience.

 

Job Overview

Provide field service support to customer base.  Install, repair, perform preventive maintenance and train customers in the use and care of instrumentation.  Support marketing shows when required.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Plan installation of new customer sites by liaising with in-house field support team and conducting a pre-installation conference call with the customer
  • Provide optimum customer satisfaction on all products and services
  • Install, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and retrofit instrument products 
  • Support customers on the operational aspects of the instrument, equipment and software
  • Install and maintain wired computer networks
  • Complete and submit all Regulatory and company required documentation
  • Provide remote diagnosis/repair support when needed
  • Relay field repetitive failures/quality issues to internal support specialists
  • Ensure that all repair parts are on site when needed and all related CRM transactions are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Test repaired instruments in all operating modes per specification
  • Represent the company at technical shows and exhibitions as required

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education gained through work experiences
  • Previous field service experience in the medical device industry is a plus
  • Basic wired and wireless network integration experience 
  • Skilled in instrument operation, test, maintenance, alignment, and repair procedure
  • Valid driver’s license - Up to 70% travel (Domestic travel and overnight trips which may last several days, potential for international travel)
  • Ability to lift/lower/carry/push/pull 1-50lbs frequently and 50-100lbs occasionally
