JOB TITLE: Engineering/Electronic Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled Engineering Drafter to join our dynamic team and continue our mission of excellence.

Job Summary: The candidate will build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain custom built as well as commercial production test equipment. This typically includes; specialized electronic production test fixtures, wiring harnesses and other cables, and other miscellaneous electronic or electrical devices. This will require the successful candidate to be able to solder, use basic electronics related hand tools, and have great troubleshooting skills.

Key responsibilities:

· 5+ years dealing with five or more of the following:

· Wiring/soldering of prototype electronic equipment, both discretely wired and PC board based.

· Reading, interpreting, modifying, and creating electrical schematic and wiring diagrams

· Component level test and troubleshooting (IC amplifier chips, transistors, passives, and magnetics)

· Electronics systems and equipment repair (amplifiers, power supplies, signal conditioning, filters)

· Electromechanical, mechanical, or electromagnetic systems hands-on experience

· Hands-on test and troubleshooting of custom, specific purpose-built electronic test equipment

· Use of schematic capture/Spice tools for basic circuit design/troubleshooting

· Handle vacuum pumps and plumbing

Required Qualifications:

· Knowledge of AC, as DC circuitry and components

· Knowledge of Circuit phase shifting

· Knowledge of AC impedance, AC power calculations

· Can interpret and digest technical specifications and procedures

· Electrical schematic and wiring diagram reading

· Soldering

· Use of basic electronics/mechanical hand tools; wire cutters, strippers, de-soldering tools, solder-wick, power drill, Taps, Dyes

· Use of basic electrical test equipment operation skills, e.g.; DVM, megger, oscilloscope, signal generator, timers

· Knowledge of servers and stepper motos and control systems

· Basic mechanical instrument skills, e.g.; micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, precision levels

· Computer literacy (Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

· Advanced test equipment operation skills, e.g.; spectrum analyzer, distortion meter, EMI analysis equipment

· Microcontroller/microprocessor based digital and/or mixed signal circuit and system familiarity

· Magnetic circuit familiarity

· Knowledge of environmental testing (temperature, shock, vibration)

· Ability to program environmental test chambers and/or vibration tables

· An outstanding, can-do attitude willing to go above and beyond the normal

· Familiarity with Lathes and Vertical Mills

· Familiarity with DAQ’s and Labview/Dasy Lab programs

· Knowledge of industrial wiring polyphase power systems

· Experience with pressurized gasses

· Knowledge of 100th edition handbook of DOE Engineering Fundamentals Course
