The Senior Engineer - Mechanical acts as the primary liaison between the NGDV Design Engineering organization and manufacturing operations, providing technical ownership for assigned vehicle systems throughout production. The position is responsible for supporting production readiness, leading engineering investigations, driving corrective actions, and ensuring timely resolution of issues that impact safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Serve as the on-site Design Engineering representative for assigned vehicle systems, providing technical leadership and daily engineering support to manufacturing operations.

  • Lead root cause investigations for production issues and drive timely implementation of corrective actions with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations.

  • Effectively communicate technical issues, risk assessments, and corrective action status to plant leadership and the Design Engineering organization.

  • Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity.

  • May be responsible for managing multiple projects.

  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.

  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project.

  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.

  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

  • Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.

  • Experience in a high volume production environment.

  • Experience with a high level CAD system.

Pay Range:

$73,200.00 - $117,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
