Job description

Structural Engineer - Entry Level - Position and Responsibilities
As an entry level Structural Engineer with Middough, you will create and establish simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. In this role, you will also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provides guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Generate design and detail drawings including, plans/sections, and isometrics to support Discipline Leads.
  • Manage and maintain the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings).
  • Handle single-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and maintaining quality processes.
  • Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 0-7 years of experience.
  • Proficient in standard drafting/design techniques.
  • Proficient in computer functions required to perform 3-D CAD and Revit design.
  • Knowledge of Codes and Standards.
  • Knowledge of reference documents and guides.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
  • Overtime (weekdays, weekends and/or holidays) may be necessary based on project workload.
