BASIC FUNCTION

This position will function within the New Product Development CAD team and will be responsible for high quality and efficient designs, project management, and the support of global initiatives. Will collaborate with CAD resources domestically and internationally. Responsible for supporting standards and processes compatible throughout all functions and regions. This position requires a technical background that can easily adapt and function within required systems and processes. Role will support regional documentation of processes, standards, and training materials.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete CAD design work using CREO, Windchill, and design intent with a fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes. Analyze designs and make recommendations for changes, modifications, or cost reductions.
  • Utilize engineering best practices and practical problem-solving involving design, fabrication, validation, systems, and processes.
  • Effectively communicate, support, and contribute information and best practices cross-functionally and cross-culturally with local and global teams.
  • Support genset conceptual, development, and production builds through a gated engineering release process.
  • Continually strive and identify process and CAD standards improvements.
  • Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking including risk/reward ratios and critical pathing.
  • Take ownership and accountability of both individual work and work completed as part of a team.
  • Build business relationships and trust, and engagement amongst teams.
  • Using provided and personally developed tools, effectively manage project tasks and needs and delegate tasks when necessary.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or similar. 3+ Years of experience preferred OR bachelor's degree in a non-engineering discipline. 3+ Years of experience in an engineering environment with demonstrated results.
  • Creo/Windchill background preferred; 3+ years in similar 3D modeling software will be considered.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and/or with teams.
  • Experience in a Model Based Definition environment is a plus.
  • Communicates well, possesses strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Analytical with a high degree of problem-solving skills.
  • Makes appropriate decisions using support tools, documentation, and critical thinking.
  • Willing and successful in taking moderate risk.
  • Well organized, manages time and projects effectively.
  • Creative problem solver in all aspects of the role.


The Salary range for this position is $66,300.00-$83,500.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
