Job description

THERMAL ENGINEER

KYSOR WARREN - EPTA

EXPERIENCE:

  • Thermal / Mechanical Engineering degree (bachelor's with 7+ years of experience or master's with 5+ years of experience)
  • Competency with thermal/fluid flow design and analysis
  • Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Hands-on engineering and thermal testing in conjunction with test engineers in lab

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead product development and thermal design activities relevant to design of a commercial refrigerator
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively within or outside organization with vendors and suppliers
  • Optimization of design using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Engineering design using hand calculations and 1D/2D thermal modeling
  • Troubleshooting using DFMEA and root cause analysis
  • Design of heat exchangers and refrigerant piping in a refrigerator
  • Air flow optimization and fan selection
  • Generating and presenting reports for design approval
  • Drafting and publishing internal engineering standards and procedures
