Responsibilities
Hamilton Company is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern for our consumables manufacturing team. The intern will assist our engineers in some or all of the following areas: production troubleshooting, conducting experiments, process verification and validation, project logistics, continuous improvement efforts, mechanical design and assembly, and other duties as assigned. Work will center around our cleanrooms' automated production systems and supporting areas.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel in a service function.
  • Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to interpret data, generate graphs, and visually communicate test results.
  • Must be able to work part-time (20 hours approx.) Monday through Friday. (Hamilton will adjust working hours to work with Academic Schedule.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with drafting/dimensioning.
  • 3D CAD experience.
  • Understanding of basic programming logic and electrical circuit principles.
  • Fabrication experience (e.g. welding, mill, lathe).

Education/Experience
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering program at University of Nevada, Reno.
