Job description

Piping Design Co-Op - Fall 2026 ( August - December)
The Piping Design co-op is responsible for assisting with the creation of detailed designs and layouts for piping systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, BSI standards, and project requirements. We are excited to provide quality mentorship opportunities to this student, and look forward to their growth.
Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality and technical accuracy of assigned deliverables
  • Follows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards
  • With supervision, performs or ensures all the necessary drafting effort to prepare drawings and deliverables
  • Learn how to meets individual schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects
  • Exposed to project scope, schedule, budget and expectations of quality
  • Learn and assists with developing piping project documents: Scope of Work, Line List, Tie-In List and project specific lists
  • Assists with Equipment List, Trap Schedules and Stress Analysis
  • Provides input to identify individual training needs and goals
  • Receive training from others and may attend outside seminars
  • Assists/interfaces with other design discipline counterparts and project management, as needed
  • Learning the role of other disciplines and overall project requirements during the project lifecycle
  • May participate in multi-discipline squad checks of deliverables before issuance
  • Continually communicates their individual forecasted staffing requirements for their assigned projects
  • Strives to achieve the targeted billability goals for position


Requirements

  • Pursuing an Associate Technology Degree and/or Computer Drafting and Design Degree preferred but not required; High School Diploma required
  • No prior work experience required, but Co-ops are a plus
  • Prior exposure to AutoCAD is a plus
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Word
