Job description

We are currently looking to fill a Draftsman position with a manufacturing company in the Tulsa, OK area.

  • Prior drafting experience with heat exchangers is required

Are you detail-driven, experienced in technical drawing, and familiar with manufacturing standards such as ASME and TEMA? Our client, a respected manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers, is seeking a Draftsman to join their engineering team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production drawings are accurate, compliant, and ready for fabrication.

**Pay:**$25–$35/hr DOE

Schedule:Monday–Friday, Day Shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed fabrication drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers
  • Complete Code Data Reports for each exchanger project
  • Perform basic design work on non-code parts not assigned to the Product Designer
  • Finalize tube layouts including tie rods, seal bars, and dummy tube locations
  • Validate all drawings for compliance with ASME code, TEMA standards, and other applicable regulations
  • Ensure drawings align with user-defined specifications and manufacturing capabilities
  • Occasionally assist on the shop floor with measurements or inspections

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; vocational drafting or technical training preferred
  • Prior drafting experience with shell and tube heat exchangers
  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards, mechanical layout, and design logic
  • Familiarity with drafting and CAD software, tube layout programs, and Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design and ability to interpret technical specifications and blueprints
  • Familiarity with safety and shop protocols; must be able to use measuring tools such as tape measures
  • Experience with Code Data Reports, ASME standards, and ISO compliance is a plus

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional visits to the production floor
  • Requires the use of safety glasses and PPE when on the shop floor
  • Moderate physical demands including sitting, standing, reaching, light lifting, and visual acuity for computer-based work
