Job Description

AECOM is seeking a skilled Bentley/MicroStation - CAD Technician to join our team in New York.  In this role, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and 3D models using Open Building Designer software. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to support various design and development projects.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Create and modify 3D CAD drawings and BIM models for various projects

  • Interpret and translate engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into detailed technical drawings

  • Ensure all drawings and models comply with industry standards and regulations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design and development processes

  • Maintain and organize digital drawing files and documentation

  • Assist in creating bill of materials and parts lists

  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input

  • Troubleshoot and resolve CAD-related issues

  • Stay updated on the latest CAD technologies and industry trends

  • Perform quality assurance checks on CAD deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Generate technical documentation and specifications to support project requirements

  • Coordinate with project stakeholders and clients to clarify design requirements and specifications

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education 

  • Must have Bentley or MicroStation experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in CAD, Drafting, or a related field

  • Good knowledge and experience with Open Building Designer

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Bentley/MicroStation

  • 8 years of experience as an Open Building Design modeler or in a similar role

  • Additional proficiency in CAD software such AutoCAD REVIT, SolidWorks, or similar platforms is a plus

  • Strong skills in 3D modeling with the Bentley/MicroStation Platform

  • Excellent technical drawing and blueprint interpretation abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations

  • Experience with project management tools

  • Understanding of design principles and processes

  • Knowledge of material properties and specifications

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Relevant CAD software certifications (preferred)
