Job description

Essential Functions
  • Creates detailed security drawings, schematics, and illustrations as directed by the Consulting Engineers and Design Engineering Manager, including but not limited to: initial sketches for proposals, floor plans, schematic wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, door elevations, door details for installation, and as-built drawings upon project completion
  • Creates drawings that comply with company and client standards as described in scope of work and proposals.
  • Meets project deadlines to ensure timely delivery of drawing packages
  • Meets the estimated drafting hours on projects
  • Accurate time keeping and posting of hours worked
  • Completes and submits all required task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Completes other projects to manager and customer satisfaction, as assigned.

Required Competencies
  • Have a strong work ethic and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics, diagrams, instructions, etc. as presented in English.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with internal and external teams and end users in English.

Qualifications - External
Education, Experience, and Eligibility Requirements
  • Must present proof of ability to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be able to clear a drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.

Language Ability
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one or before groups of customers or employees of the company.

Math Ability
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, inventory software, MS Excel, expert level of Revit and AutoCAD

Certification/Licensing
  • AutoCAD and manufacture training certificates are desirable.
